Inspiring the Young Entrepreneur
With your support, Nightingale's strategic goal of creating space for alternative instruction comes to life in classes like Business Development for the Young Entrepreneur. Young entrepreneurs in Class XI & XII use the Business Model Canvas to develop business pitches, creating a clear value proposition after identifying a problem in the world they’d like to address.
Varsity Swim Makes a Splash in Record-breaking Season
Varsity Swim qualified for the 2023 NYSAIS tournament, breaking Nightingale records along the way. From providing training equipment and access to athletics facilities to bolstering our devoted coaches, your support continues to champion all of our Nighthawk athletes!
Traveling Through History
In Class VIII, an ongoing study of civil rights culminates in a trip to Alabama. Students spend five days tracing the steps of changemakers in the Civil Rights Movement in conjunction with their United States History course. Your support empowers our faculty to develop critical thinkers and compassionate citizens in our Middle School.
Class II Builds New York City
Throughout the year, Class II’s social studies lessons focus on the five boroughs of New York City, and this special event helps bring their curriculum to life. Lower School trips around NYC lend a greater appreciation of the blend of cultures in our city.
Learning through Movement: Upper School Dance Collective
Featuring original student-choreographed pieces, the US Dance Collective encourages students to collaborate, take risks, and move their bodies and minds in new, creative directions. Whether on stage or in the studio, your support provides ample opportunities for students across divisions to explore artistic avenues and hone their craft.
Round Square Global and Cultural Competency
Your gift supports our commitment to global and cultural competency. The classroom transcends the blue doors, and your support provides opportunities for our students to follow their curiosity and question circumstances beyond our walls. Through this, they become empowered leaders, critical thinkers, and agents of their own lives. This fall, Ale H.P. '26, Claire W. '25, Kate B. '25, Mira S. '25, Stephanie A. '26, Sophie G. '25 and two faculty members traveled to Kenya for the 2023 Round Square Conference.
Teaching and Learning for Nightingale's Second Century
Over 100 community members were welcomed through the blue doors to experience "The Classroom Revisited," a special Centennial event. The day offered a unique opportunity to attend various classes and the chance to experience the magic of a Nightingale education. The Nightingale Fund allows us to adapt our curriculum, adjust to the needs of our students and community, and attract top faculty and administrative leaders.
Middle School Debate Promotes Listening and Resilience
The Nightingale Fund supports cornerstone academic programs like the Middle School Debate. These self-motivated, dedicated debaters spend two enrichment periods each cycle performing the necessary research, building their case, and participating in practice debates. We couldn't run this program, whose expenses include registration fees, judge stipends, and faculty compensation, without the support of our generous donors.
